Michel Lajoie, LL.B. joined Hexavest in 2007 as the firm’s dedicated Chief Compliance Officer and has since been promoted to Chief Legal Officer. Mr. Lajoie has prior experience as a Chief Compliance Officer at Natcan Investment Management (a subsidiary of National Bank of Canada), he also worked as a Case Manager for the Quebec Securities Regulator from 2006-2007, and he was Senior Consultant, Compliance at Standard Life Insurance Company from 2000-2003, and he held the role of Investigator at Bureau des Services financiers (Quebec-based regulator) from 1999-2000. Michel was called to the Bar (Quebec Bar) in 1998, and he holds a Bachelors degree of Law LL.B. (1997) from Université Laval. He also successfully completed the Partners, Directors and Senior Officers Course (PDO); the Canadian Securities Course (CSC); the Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH); and the Segregated Funds and Mutual Funds Course, all from the Canadian Securities Institute.
